Cornetto Hoop Earrings
Black Silver & Rose Gold
Cosmas Indicopleustes, a merchant of Alexandria who lived in the 6th century, made a voyage to India and subsequently wrote works on cosmography. He gives a description of a unicorn based on four brass figures in the palace of the King of Ethiopia. He states, from report, that "it is impossible to take this ferocious beast alive; and that all its strength lies in its horn.
With the hope that strength will lies in the ones who wears our unicorn hoop earrings too.
Hand-carved from wax and then cast in precious metal, each piece is finished by hand in our London Studio, presenting slightly different from any other as a proof of the craft process behind it.
The silver hoop body tapers to a rose gold post, through a delicate and elegant twist. As well as a stylistic choice, this detail ensures that the part of the piece getting in touch with the skin is gold - the purest of the metals - minimising any risk of allergic reaction or infection.
Dimensions: 22 mm hoops
